ARNOLD BECKMAN

Inventor • Chemist • Businessperson • Electrical Engineer

Perhaps one of the most important inventors of all time, Arnold Beckman pioneered the chemical instrumentation revolution. I had the honor of working with Mr. Beckman’s foundation and the scientists, historians, and entrepreneurs the share in his legacy. We produced a feature-length documentary that aired on PBS.

PH Meter

Arnold O. Beckman developed the first commercially successful electronic pH meter. The pH variations can influence flavor, consistency, and shelf life to create the perfect fruit juices and other food products.

DU Spectrophotometer

Spectroscopy was invented by Arnold Beckman. It is a quantitative technique used to measure how much a chemical substance absorbs light invented by Arnold Beckman.

Oxygen analyzer

The national defense committee commissioned Arnold Beckman to produce Dr. Pauling’s oxygen analyzer, and he added his innovations for better efficiency and control quality.

Oxidant Recorder

The oxidant recorder was first developed by Arnold Beckman in the late 1940s. The instrumentation revolution transformed the study of air pollution.

Ultracentrifuge

Ultracentrifuge is the machine used to create vaccines. The device's inventor sought advice from the instrumentation expert, Arnold Beckman, to reproduce ultracentrifuge worldwide. For that reason, he was considered the highway of science.
